About

Hallal Music was officially launched in Lubbock, Texas in December of 1989.  The mission of this ministry has always been to help people experience the power and presence of God through music and worship experiences.

Hallal has led conferences in thirteen states, Brazil, New Zealand, Australia, Bahamas and Honduras.  In addition to numerous worship celebrations and seminars in churches and communities, there have been several events that our teams have enjoyed leading worship at year after year:

  • Pepperdine Lectures in Malibu, CA (1992-2015)
  • Stream Worship Renewal Conferences in Midland, Abilene, Austin, Irving TX, Franklin, TN (1996-2012)
  • Mo Ranch Family Retreat in the Texas Hill Country hosted by the Westover Hills Church of Christ, Austin (1985-2011)
  • Mountain Family Fellowship in Ruidoso, NM hosted by the Gateway Church (1990-2003)
  • Lipscomb Summer Celebration in Nashville, TN (2004-2011)
  • Rejoice Community Celebration in Midland, TX (1993-2002)
  • Jubilee in Nashville, TN (1997-1999)

Victor Hugo, the French poet and playwright, once said, “Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent.”  In a world overwhelmed by conflict and confusion, music gives us the language of praise and peace we so desperately need.

Ken and Marca Young and their family have always had a special love for ministry through music.  God has blessed them to all live in Franklin, TN which makes it convenient to be involved in recordings and other aspects of Hallal’s ministry.

Ken works full-time with Hallal and also leads worship at the Western Hills Church in Nashville.  Marca serves as Hallal’s office manager and stays very busy enjoying seven wonderful grandchildren.

Their son, Cole Young, and his wife, Allyson, have three children: Brynlee, Landon & Emma Jean.  He serves as the worship leader for the Otter Creek Church in Brentwood, TN and Allyson works with Pearre Creek Elementary School in Franklin.

Their daughter, Kelci Bills, and her husband, Anthony, have four children:  Bennett, Sawyer, Hunter & Vivian.  Anthony is a partner with the Wiseman Ashworth Law Group in Nashville and Kelci is a very busy stay-at-home mom.

The Young Family

One of the great blessing to Hallal’s ministry through the years has been the incredible network of friends who have joined with us to minister to people around the world.  There have been so many generous contributors, singers, musicians, media and sound technicians, hosts, prayer warriors, teachers, artists and event volunteers.  There are too many to try and name them all.

But there is one faithful group of dear friends I have to introduce to you – the Hallal Worship Board of Directors.  They have faithfully guided and encouraged us for so many years.  Most corporations have board members who come and go.  But these couples have stayed with us through the mountaintops and valleys.  They have been our spiritual accountability group as well as a great corporate board.
